Language

Settings → Language (admins) sets the languages your desk speaks to requesters in. It applies to the whole installation. English is always on; you can add Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.

With English only

This is how a new desk starts. Texts you write for requesters, such as portal headlines, form questions, survey questions and signatures, have one box each, with no language tabs. Requesters see everything in English, and there's no language to pick for a contact.

Adding a language

  1. Choose Add language; it lists the ones not on yet.
  2. Pick the language.

Once a second language is on:

  • Every text requesters see gets a tab per language (EN, NO, SV, DA, only for the languages that are on). A dot on a tab marks a language that has a text. A language without a text shows the English one.
  • Portals, forms and surveys have a language switch in their live preview.
  • New contacts and contacts on an account get a Language setting, and automations can check a case's language.
  • Requesters get the language of their browser, or the one set on their contact, when it's on. Otherwise they get English.

The desk's own words on portals, forms, case pages, survey pages and emails are already translated into every language on the list.

Removing a language

Remove turns a language off. Its tab goes away and requesters who had it get English.

[!NOTE] The texts you wrote in it are kept, and come back if you add the language again.

From the environment

The setting is LANGUAGES (see configuration), a list like en,no.

[!IMPORTANT] Set in the server's environment, it can only be changed there, and the page shows it as locked.
